The word detox is a word that pops up all too often in today’s culture. Fortunately for everybody, bodies are very well made to get rid of toxins naturally and so one doesn’t need to purchase special supplements and go on match diets to do this. Full Body Detox is a way of life you can live continuously!

Here in this article, we draw from the expertise from the army. Who knows better about getting their soldiers into shape then they do? Everything the army teaches as part of their training and their Army Combat Fitness Test training program involves natural detox methods that can enhance the body. Let’s take a look and see what advice they give their soldiers as part of their ACFT training and to detox naturally.

1. Reduce alcohol intake

Over 85% of all alcohol is broken down and metabolize within the liver. The enzymes in the liver produce acetaldehyde which can cause cancer. Many studies today have shown that a low alcohol consumption rate can be beneficial for a healthy heart and can relieve the body of health problems, but drinking excessively can reduce the liver’s ability to do this. Drink in excess and you will stop the liver from detoxifying naturally. Army soldiers will never be able to complete their ACFT training with a busted liver!

2. Get adequate sleep

Quality sleep is vital for a natural detox system. When you sleep, your brain reorganizes, recharges itself and eliminates toxic byproducts that accumulate throughout the day. When one is deprived of sleep, their body does not have the capacity to perform elimination of byproducts, allowing toxins to build up and affect health. Army members training the ACFT need their sleep, aim for 8-9 hours a day. Sleep is important not just for physical health but mental health as well.

3. Keep hydrated

By drinking water, one will quench their thirst, regulate their body temperature, improve digestion, absorb nutrients more efficiently, lubricate their joints and detox their body through the removal of waste substances. Keep hydrated for your best ACFT yet. As body cells repair themselves to function, waste products are released in the form of carbon dioxide a new rear that can harm the body if they build up in the blood. Water helps to remove the body of such undesirable waste products, providing a natural detox. Hydration is key to Full Body Detox.

4. Go easy on processed foods and sugars

Research has shown that a high consumption of processed and sugary foods is linked to chronic diseases and cancer. There’s no way that you can plow through an ACFT training program with a poor diet! A buildup towards these diseases hinders the body’s ability to detox itself, harming important organs. By limiting junk food, and replacing it with healthier choice detox foods, one can prevent these conditions and allow their organs to detoxify naturally.

5. Eating foods rich in antioxidants

Antioxidants are compounds that can prevent cell damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals can create problems for the body if there is an excess of them. By eating foods rich in antioxidants, one can help their body fight oxidative stress is that is caused by excessive free radicals, thus eliminating their risk of disease. Focus on consuming foods rich in antioxidants such as nuts, berries, spices, and vegetables.

6. Prebiotic foods are beneficial

The health of your gut is highly important for a natural detox. The cells within your intestinal lining have detoxification systems that prevent your body from the uptake of unhealthy chemicals. A good gut starts with consuming prebiotics, i.e. types of fiber which facilitate the feeding of good bacteria in the gut known as probiotics. The best way to detox with prebiotics is to eat foods such as artichokes, tomatoes, asparagus, bananas, and garlic. Immune health and detoxification is all about keeping the digestive system healthy.

7. Decreasing one’s salt consumption

By consuming an excess of salt, one can cause their body to retain too much fluid and this can lead to bloating and uncomfortable feelings. When there is too much salt in the body, antidiuretic hormones are secreted that prevent one from urinating, thus preventing the excretion of waste products. It is important to stay hydrated and eat foods which are rich in potassium, including kidney beans, potatoes, spinach, and bananas.

8. Live an active life

If you’re not exercising regularly, regardless of how much you weigh, you’re probably going to reduce your life span. Regular activity decreases inflammation and allows the body to detox. The best way of getting active is to do 150 to 300 minutes of moderate exercise a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, similar to ACFT training.
