ACFT Delayed due to COVID-19
Its official- the ACFT roll out has been delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19.
With all the cancellations, postponements and delays these last few weeks this may come as no surprise. The official word has come- the ACFT roll out has been delayed indefinitely due to gym closures and the corona virus.
The ACFT was scheduled to be the official physical test of the Army starting this fall. Soldiers have been training and practicing the functional movements and exercises to prepare for this change. One significant difference between previous physical tests and the ACFT is the necessary equipment. To preform or even practice this test soldiers need access to

- Two 40 LB kettle bells
- A sled and strap
- A Hex bar and weight plates
- A pull up bar
- 10 lb medicine ball
Officials were already concerns about equipment shortage and the test implementation. Army-Fitness.com has done our best to keep bases supplied by selling lane packages as well as customized orders. Now with the forced closure of gyms both on base and off base soldiers will have little opportunity to practice using the required gear.
With information changing daily the military is racing to keep up. The delayed implementation of the ACFT due to COVID-19 is just the latest in a series of changes. The Navy recently canceled their spring PRT cycle as well.
Things are changing so rapidly its challenging to keep on top of all the information. We at army-fitness.com commit to keeping you up to date on all things ACFT. Don’t let these changes throw you off your fitness goals. We will continue to provide great content through out this COVID-19 containment.
